Terms of service
Effective Date: 2025-02-08
Welcome to Brotherline. By accessing, joining, or using our platform in any form — including one-on-one sessions, group conversations, website content, or any related services — you agree to the following Terms of Service.
1. Who We Are
Brotherline is a volunteer-based, peer-support platform. We provide a space where men can connect with other men who have lived through similar experiences — such as grief, divorce, stress, and more. We are not therapists, not counselors, and not a crisis service.
2. What We Do (and Don't Do)
✅ We offer peer-to-peer emotional support.
✅ We create safe spaces for men to speak, listen, and feel heard.
❌ We do not offer professional therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment.
❌ We do not provide crisis intervention services.
If you are in crisis, or are experiencing suicidal thoughts, please contact professional help or call 9-8-8 (Canada Suicide Crisis Helpline, available 24/7).
3. Eligibility
To use Brotherline:
You must be 18 years of age or older.
You must be respectful, honest, and non-abusive.
You must agree to confidentiality and commit to creating a safe space for others.
4. Confidentiality & Privacy
Everything shared in one-on-one or group sessions must be kept confidential.
We do not record conversations.
We do not share your personal information without your permission.
However, if someone shares information suggesting they or someone else is at risk of serious harm, we may need to report this to protect safety.
Please read our [Privacy Policy] for more details.
5. Code of Conduct
As a member or volunteer of Brotherline, you agree to:
Be respectful and non-judgmental
Avoid giving unsolicited advice
Never promote hate, violence, or discrimination
Not use Brotherline to promote personal, religious, or political agendas
Refrain from using the platform for commercial purposes or solicitation
Violations of these principles may result in a permanent ban from the platform.
6. Volunteers
Volunteers are everyday men who offer their time to support others. They are not paid professionals or representatives of Brotherline. All volunteers agree to the same code of conduct and confidentiality policy.
Volunteers are not liable for outcomes of conversations and cannot be held responsible for decisions made by users.
7. Liability Disclaimer
Brotherline and its volunteers are not liable for any emotional, physical, or mental outcomes resulting from interactions through the platform.
By using Brotherline, you agree to use the platform at your own risk. We encourage users to seek professional care when needed.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the platform means you agree to the new terms.
